Sports facilities
Students attending the Tartini Conservatory have access to the facilities and the activities of the CUS University Sports Centre of the University of Trieste.
Since 1946 – year of its foundation - CUS Trieste has been the reference point for all students wishing to perform sports activities or competitive sports or more simply to play within the University framework. Over the years, as the needs changed, CUS Trieste has always tried to anticipate them and offer a service as complete as possible, within the limits of the available facilities and funds.
Proposed activities for the 2008/2009 academic year
• Competitive-federal activities: athletics, karate, basketball, female and male volleyball, target shooting, trot. To practice competitive sports, call 040 558 7651.
• Sports promotion activities: directly organised courses, courses under special agreements; use of facilities under special agreements; university competitions, university tournaments; Team and individual National University championships; university campuses, international activities, interCus activities.
Courses
Directly organised by CUS: Sport dance, Gymnastics (Aerobics, Compensation, Gluteus-abdomen-legs, Pilates, Step, Traditional), Karate, Swimming, Basketball, Volleyball, Muscle reinforcement, Indoor tennis, Outdoor tennis, Table tennis, Target shooting, Muscle toning up, and Yoga. Some of these courses are being finalised now.
Organised under special agreements: Water gymnastics, Free climbing, Boxing, Canoeing, Rowing, Horse-riding, Hertha Yoga, Golf, Judo, Ju jitsu, Orienteering, Sport fishing, Rugby, Chess, fencing, Diving, Free diving, Taekwondo, Trot, and Sailing. Some of these courses are being finalised now.
University competitions: Road running (Bavisela 2008), Darts, Gymnastics (Aerobics, Gluteus-abdomen-legs, Pilates, Step, Traditional), Karate, Mountain Bike, Swimming, Volleyball, Muscle reinforcement, Target shooting, 3-point shooting (basketball), and Trot.
Tournaments: Bowling, Table football, Soccer (five, six, seven, eleven players, beach soccer), Basketball (team play, three vs. three), Volleyball (in couples, 6x6 mixed, beach volley, beach volley three vs. three), Indoor tennis (individual and in teams), Outdoor tennis (individual and double), and Table tennis.
Team National University championships: (soccer in 5, male basketball, female and male volleyball, rugby) and other disciplines both individual and in teams.
University campuses: sport-related stays at tourist centres under special agreements with C.U.S.I.
In the Winter: Fai della Paganella (Trento) and Valzoldana (Belluno); in the Summer Lago di Caldonazzo (Trento), Muravera (Sardinia) and Baia di Terrasini (Sicily).
International activities: exchange programmes with university teams of various disciplines. Participation in tournaments and university competitions abroad.
InterCUS activities: meeting programmes with other CUS for various disciplines. Moreover activities are also organised at the university poles of Gorizia and Pordenone.

The “CUS Desk” – Desk 1 – Letter “E” – is located at the Students’ Secretariat on the ground floor, in the right wing of the main building in piazzale Europa. It is available for information, enrolments and registrations.
How to reach the CUS office and CUS desk
The Cus office and desk can be reached via urban busses: 4 (from piazza Oberdan at a few metres from the Conservatory) 17, 17/, 39, 51 from via Coroneo (at a few steps from the Conservatory, after crossing piazza Oberdan).
Enrolment
To perform any activity within CUS Trieste, it is compulsory to own a CUSI card effective as of January 1 to August 31 of the current year. To obtain this card it is necessary:
• to be a student of the Conservatory of Music Tartini;
• to submit the application form duly filled in and signed;
• to pay the relevant fee;
• to attach a medical certificate of fitness to practice non competitive sports (the original copy) dated later than august 31.
This year too CUS Trieste offers the usual service to allow interested students to obtain a medical certificate. Medical checks will take place at the CUS gym (changing room entrance) at dates and times that will be duly advertised.
To get a CUSI card, go to the CUS Secretariat starting from the working day following the submission of the documents with the receipt issued by CUS when registering.
Please remember:
• Without the CUSI Card you will not be allowed to attend any course nor to participate into competitions or tournaments;
• Sample checks will be made; those not abiding with what is above specified will not be allowed to continue the activities;
• The CUSI card entitles the owner to benefit from the insurance services under the underwritten policy. The insurance is effective as of September 1 to August 31. The terms of the insurance are displayed on the board at the registered office of CUS and are available to those requiring them at the CUS desk and secretariat;
• Enrolment shall start from September 1.
